FAQS

What are HSA and FSA accounts?

What are HSA and FSA accounts?

Can I use my HSA/FSA on a subscription?

Yes, but subscriptions follow the reimbursement flow. You pay for the subscription with a regular card, complete the qualification survey, and then submit your LMN and receipt to your HSA/FSA administrator for reimbursement. The same LMN covers recurring charges for up to 12 months.

How do I get reimbursed?

If you paid with a regular card, submit your LMN and purchase receipt to your HSA/FSA administrator. Generally, this involves logging into your administrator's portal, navigating to the claims section, and uploading both documents. The exact process varies by administrator.

I don't have an HSA/FSA account — can I still use Truemed?

Truemed is only available to customers with an HSA or FSA account. If you don't have one, check with your employer's HR or benefits department about enrollment options, typically during open enrollment.

Where is my Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN)?

After completing the clinical intake form, your LMN is available in your Truemed dashboard attruemed.com. Most LMNs are issued within a few hours, though it can take up to 1–2 business days. If you haven't received it, check your spam folder and make sure you completed the full intake form.

My HSA/FSA card was declined — what should I do?

Card declines are usually an issue with your card or account, not with Truemed. Try these steps:

  • Check your HSA/FSA account balance
  • Confirm your card is activated and not expired
  • Contact your card issuer to ask about the decline reason
  • Alternatively, pay with a regular card and submit for reimbursement using your LMN and receipt

Can I split my payment between my HSA/FSA card and a regular card?

Yes. Truemed's Split Pay feature lets you divide a single order across your HSA/FSA card and a regular credit or debit card. This is useful when your HSA/FSA balance doesn't cover the full order or when your order includes a mix of eligible and ineligible items. Split Pay is available for one-time purchases only, not subscriptions.

I don't see the Truemed option at checkout — what do I do?

uplift is approved through tru med and hsa/fsa eligible, but does not have a direct payment integration, so you will need to submit your reimbursement through tru med.

How much will I save with Truemed?

Customers using HSA/FSA funds save their income tax rate because they're paying with pre-tax dollars. Qualified customers save an average of 30%. This is not a discount — you pay full price, and the savings come from the tax advantage of your HSA/FSA account. Actual savings depend on your individual tax rate.

Why wasn't I approved?

Eligibility is determined by an independent clinician based on the health information you provided. Not every customer qualifies, as it depends on individual health circumstances. For questions about your qualification outcome, please contact support@truemed.com.

Why is only part of my order eligible? Why is only part of my order eligible?

Some products are only partially eligible when they include features beyond what's considered medically necessary. Truemed calculates the eligible portion using a comparable item approach, and your LMN and receipt will show the breakdown. You pay full price and can submit the eligible portion for HSA/FSA reimbursement.
